The Fountainhead was written by a young Ayn Rand, still struggling to sort out her thoughts. In her magnum opus "Atlas Shrugged" her ideas are a lot clearer. I would recommend you to read it as it will give you the answers to your questions.
Since swedish is my native tounge I am a bit limited when trying to answer your question, but I will try my best.
Basically what you are saying is "why should I choose this set of ideas (Objectivism) instead of this other set (religion)?" That is not the right question to ask. All religions are sets of ideas that cannot be changed (God is almighty, Jesus is his son, Khali(?) is the god of death etc.) no matter what any proofs say. Even if you try using your mind and conclude that God cannot exist(his existance defy every objective fact we know), instead of changing the Bible you are told that you are wrong and in some countries you are killed.
In an objective society rational reasoning is the foundation upon which everu truth rests. This means that objectivism is not a set of ideas to be eternally true, but instead a set of results of previous peoples rational reasoning. If anybody in the future uses all the strength in his mind and all the objective facts (facts that have been logically derived from axioms, google 'axiom' if you don't know it) he knows and arrives at a conclusion that some of today's objectivist thruths are wrong, he can change them.
This was a bad attempt at explaining. I recommend you to read Atlas Shrugged and examine the texts at www.capmag.com (Capitalism Magazine) and maybe you will find an answer.
