Actually happiness starts from without as your happiness is derived from external stimulus. Does a sunset make you happy? Well the sun rising up and shining light upon the once darkened land is something beyond your control. If it illicits happiness that is stimulated not by you , but by the outside world, A world of many things you can't control or command.

: When asked whether I agree with Ayn Rand's philosophies, generally I do. I've always believed that one should put his or her happiness above all. Happiness starts from within and you won't find it elsewhere. However, I do not agree with Ayn Rand's position that there is no higher power and no life after death. She says that if there is such thing, then man must kneel before that and therefore, not be an end in himself. While it's true that many religions worship a God of sorts as the supreme power and the be all and end all, I believe that I come first above all. Although I do pray and believe in a higher power, I won't kneel before it; nor am I willing to sacrifice my life to it. It's there to complement my life, not run it.
