: I just stumbled on your site. Don't know if this is the correct way to submit some work, but thought I'd give it a try. Please advise.
: A LIMERICK ON THE MEANING OF IS
: The president knows not what "is" means
: And the intelligence of all he demeans
: Such deceitful word games
: As he everyone blames
: But himself, when he let drop his jeans.
: 1998 by Phil Trieb, Gary SD
: IMPEACH I
: When the experts cite "materiality"
: While they dance on the head of a pin
: And wander so far from reality
: As they quibble o'er contemptible sin
: The sin made the sinner a byword
: A joke on the world's moral screen
: For in groups large or small there is oft heard
: Laughs of derision, and lecherous grins seen
: And Forefathers in coffins are rolling
: Over laws that have been turned into trash
: The Foremothers are in their graves screaming
: And both on this travesty gnash.
: If they could, yes they would break the deathchains
: And return, stand and do what is right
: Then the guilty would suffer the true pains
: And we would be led from this night.
: 1998 by Phil Trieb, Gary SD
: IMPEACH II
: Will Congress impeach or just censure
: Or forget it and simply move on
: And claim they have taken the temp'ture
: Of the people, who say it's too long
: But what would it say to the nation
: If a liar gets away with a crime
: Continues to live in high station
: No punishment, no penalty, no fine
: For if the garbage man, teacher or banker
: Had done what this profligate did
: The courts would rise up and with rancor
: Send the scoundrel away, and forbid
: That he ever again fill the office
: Which he had when foul offense was made
: And the pundits would join and so loud hiss
: Pour contempt on the bum, "Renegade!"
: But we have seen strong backbones buckle
: As leaders turn tail and fast run
: And the late night TV hosts do chuckle
: They've never had such easy fun
: While the anchors and media pollsters
: Taste the broth, skip the meat in the stew
: And cops turn in badges and holsters
: Disillusioned, don't know what to do
: With our highest lawmaker a swiller
: Making joke of the law of the land
: And our proud constitutional pillar
: Decays to a small heap of sand
