Hello Sir, I am a 29 year old college student at Campbell University. I also happen to be in the 82d Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. I am struggling to deal with the mixed feelings I have towards your, (if I may call it yours), philosophy as far as privatization is concerned. We use your book 'Freedom to Choose' as our text, and view one of your videos in each cl. The reason I am perplexed about your viewpoint has nothing to do with comprehension of your ideas. It has to do with the responsibility I feel towards humanity, and the application of the ideas. Indeed the system of a free market economy makes a lot of sense. And although many nations have found a great deal of success using it the perils of the have-nots within the system raise a great deal of concern. It's like having a great two-dimensional plan down on paper, but when it is brought into reality it just doesn't work. There are alot of variables that stiffle the ingenuity of a free market economy. In fact there are just too many to even fathom. I guess there is no perfect system, and being in the Army for 11 years has tought me not to complain unless you have a better way of doing things. But my conscience doesn't jibe with my logic. I guess that, in essence, is why I'm writing. I just hope to see a day when people don't have to suffer financially, (or any other way for that matter). Before I go I do want to personally thank you for the contributions you've made to man. Even though I don't agree with you on a few of your beliefs, I appreciate the fact that you are trying to help mankind. When I think of the perfect system you'll be the first to know.LOL
