Dear Sir,
Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed to what extent America was in trouble.
And tonight, as I write to you, it is with a heavy heart and the realization to have lost all hope in a country getting ready to collapse.
Perhaps ignorance is after all the best blessing. I realize my awareness and sensitivity to the current issues make me a minority, and so do my core beliefs.
I have very recently received my American Citizenship and the first thing I did within seven days of being sworn in, as a citizen was to register myself as a voter.
I have since voted both primaries and on the 7th, presidential. I was very proud to vote. It was the first time I ever voted in my life. You see voting in my country had become a redundant affair, somewhat a waste of time for people.
No matter how you cast your vote, you were still casting it for the enrichment and the empowerment of the government, the mighty and powerful, the father of them all, the hand which squashed all dreams and hopes, because people's dreams and hopes always become too irrelevant to an entity so big, to a power faceless and heartless, a machine finely tuned to achieve one thing and one thing only: self-enrichment.
Make no mistakes American fellow citizens, getting richer is ALL the government is seeking. Please don't be so naive as to think that big daddy is there to help you.
No, make no mistake. The entire Eastern block and most of Western Europe will confirm what I am saying; big daddy is here to stay.
Big daddy is here to shape its wealth over your sore backs.
Big daddy is here to devour your dreams of freedom and wealth, to alienate your hopes to succeed, to destroy the concept of "the American dream."
Big daddy is here to steal your children and use them for its senseless wars.
Big daddy is here to make sure that all live in ignorance, because the knowledge of one is the plague of all.
Big daddy is here to enforce the law, the mighty unreadable law, the one that lets criminals go unpunished, but punishes you, for thinking, for wanting, for dreaming.
It is ironic to me to see minorities in this country talk through the voices of political and religious entities about their fears to lose their freedom, while at the same time they want the government to take care of them, they think the government will make sure their freedom wont be lost.
Make no mistake my fellow minority citizens, the government is nothing better than the whip, which cut through your backs way back then.
You are already enjoying freedom.
Putting your trust in a government that has now kept you ignorant for over eight years wont make thing better for you.
Don't be so blind as not to see that you already have what you so hard seeked in history.
All you have to do now is let your children bloom. Give them a chance to grow, not to be squashed by the faceless strength of bureaucracy.
I have voted Republican in both instances because I come from an old country where socialism has failed the people, a country where government has become the all mighty power, the forceful hand behind all people's dreams and expectations, the cutting whip on society's back, the great enforcer of a complicated, convoluted legal system which does not account for the people's will, a government entity which is not "of the people, by the people, for the people."
I voted Republican because to me the party translated the word "freedom."
I bought myself a booklet called the Constitution of the United States, something I have been carrying in my bag and have been reading to my children in the spare time.
Has anyone in this country ever read it? It is fascinating writing.
I wonder if Mr. Jesse Jackson has ever encouraged the people he so much cares for to read it. They now have the freedom they deserved, why not read something which will free them even more and make them understand that what they are really part of is not an America depicted to be a land of hate and missed opportunities, but indeed a land where everyone now has a voice, despite their color or religious creed.
Mr. Jackson should give the people he insists in leading the knowledge of why they are voting and what they are voting for; the freedom to vote for those who they think will suit them best as individuals, not as a race alone, because "racism" also means separatism, and Mr. Jackson is doing nothing else but making sure that the minorities will be kept separate from the majority, because once a man understands his rights, he is a free man, and perhaps that concept does not always suit the government and its innumerable branches.
Loading crowds of people on a bus to turn in the votes because they represent faceless entities to increase the poll count is not only a terrible injustice to them, but also such an offensive attempt at recognizing the ignorance in which minorities have been kept.
The representatives of God in this country, whether they fight for minorities or anybody for that matter should never let their people believe that they have no chance to dream as big as anyone else can.
Using God as the weapon, which divides, is not what God would want.
I am afraid my writing is getting very lengthy and I apologize, but you dot realize perhaps how wonderful it is that you can have a voice and that millions can hear the voice.
It is very frustrating to sit here and watch this wonderful country slowly go to hell.
You see, just like I think that government is squashing minorities in the same way it wants to squash all the rest of us, I also think it uses the military all around the world to keep it away from here; to keep their voices shut, to leak their strength outside this land because after all, the military is a voluntary entity and even though they answer to the government, God forbid the government would fail them, it could become a powerful voting force, and we don't want that to happen.
Big daddy would not want that to happen.
Keeping them outside the country should surely make it hard enough for them to receive absentee’s ballots.
I am sure these fine people who so courageously give their lives for us voluntarily would have no problem reading the right name for the candidate they want to vote for.
And then of course, we have the media.
The mighty, powerful, ever so smart, MEDIA. In my country the media is the government's voice on TV. It is the government's voice in print.
They recount what the government wants you to believe is happening to the country, they subtly tell you what to think about it, they ume a face of authority and power which makes you, the ill-prepared, sensitive m of ignorance, ever so respectful of someone so official as a suited, well-groomed pundit behind the outreaching camera and your television screen.
After all, if it can get to your house through the mysterious methods of modern communication, it must be right.
They must be right.
Their opinions, their beliefs, their ideas, their rendering of reality must be the right version of it, otherwise, why would they be able to sit there, in the far away land of "the other side of the camera," unless what they told you is true, WAS true.
So you listen to what the Media says like you listen to what "the old man says," and you shove it gently in the recondite meanders of your brain and you let it simmer there for a few years, till it suddenly becomes clear to you.
You need to watch TV to have any thoughts at all!
You NEED to read the paper to have any Opinions at all!
You need to watch Sally, and Oprah, and Mimi, and Bibi, and Jane, and Laura, and Billy, and,...well you know, by God it would be unthinkable for you to do without that morning coffee, that opinionated paper and that daytime TV show!
TO THINK FOR YOURSELF?...What a foreign concept.
People who have been known to think for themselves in the past after all, they have always been brandished as the conspirator right wing movement.
So here we are on the eve of learning who will be our next President. After the busloads were produced as promised and the absentees ballots were created as promised, after the voter fraud became an accusation before it could become a double headed snake, after all said and done, we still seem to want to sit here and ponder in wonder, why this is happening at all.
My goodness did we really think it was going to be so easy?
Did we really think that the government was going to let us make our own decisions after eight years of its powerful tie?
Did we really believe that having had enough of something would give us the right to vote it out of our houses, our of our lives, out of our thoughts?
Did we really think that the modern government branch, the MEDIA, was going to let us be proud of our vote, responsible for our own actions and free to chose as we pleased without building the moral equivalent of a Berlin wall amidst us?
I watched the few people in Pennsylvania talk about their decisions on the votes they cast.
I saw their faces reflect that same light I watched over the faces of the people in my country, the unabated daze of ignorance.
The blind veil over their eyes created by years of daily imilation of biased knowledge.
It was kind of sad; they all seemed so irretrievably lost.
I wonder how many of us have become that way?
When Hollywood, stage actors, paid clowns, performing monkeys for crying out loud, when these "creatures," as you so rightly called them sir can be allowed to mingle in the political making of this great land, unabashedly stating their opinions to influence, believing that they could influence our thought, it is scary, actually no, it's terrifying.
Hollywood, like the MEDIA is telling us one thing and one thing only; we, the people of America cannot think for ourselves.
We cannot know what is best for our children.
We cannot fight our own fight.
We are such helpless creatures of this new world, that we need them, the perfect embodiment of misrepresentation to tell us how to feel, to tell us how to think, to tell us how to behave, how to protect our families, how to look, how to dress, how to eat, how to make love, how to love.
They tell us how to live because according to them and to our government (their jelly on the peanut,) we are too ignorant to know better.
We are the m, we are the ones who cry and scream when we see them p, we are the ones who climb walls and windows on high floor to get a glimpse of their Godly aura.
We, the people of America do not believe in God, we believe in Hollywood.
We do not need to know what an electoral vote is, all we need to know is how Julia Roberts spells Republican.
The pathetic fallacy that our core beliefs have become.
Don't worry about the missiles pointing at you by countries that do not have the word "feeling" in their dictionary, but "hate" and "kill" are only common sense words to them.
Don’t worry about killing the criminals who cannot understand the difference between right and wrong, after all their civil rights are far more important.
It is important that they are taught how to read, so that next time they kill you, they can spell you name.
Don't worry about killing the unborn child with the permission of government. After all, killing your child in your womb is far less problematic than throwing "it" in the public garbage bin.
It seems obvious to me, a simple mother of two, that if the goal of both candidates were to win the popular vote, then their campaign strategies would have been very different. As a matter of fact there would have probably been at least 100,000 people (and I mean genuine people) in Texas alone who did not vote on the 7th because they were told their vote would not count too much in view of the sure win of the electorate.
So good luck America, the beautiful, the great, good luck America in choosing a new President. And if they ever make you believe that what you got was what you wanted, God help you.
I should include myself I guess in this circle, except I know what I want. I know I may not get what I want because after all, I think for myself, and that alone, is a terrible drawback in modern America.
Oh, “President” Gore, sir? There is no will of the people. You just won’t let us have it.
